As Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Gregoire oversees product development, engineering, manufacturing operations, quality management, and business development strategy for Access Optics [AO]. He brings nearly 30 years of cross-functional leadership experience. Prior to joining AO, he served in ever increasingly responsible positions at Moog, Inc., Cooper Surgical and Gyrus ACMI as well as other publicly traded medical device companies.
Gregoire is named on several published patents which cover a diverse range of technological innovations, holds a blackbelt in Six Sigma, and is a Shingo Prize recipient. He is dedicated to operational excellence and integrity in his commitment to Access Optics, its customers, and its employees.
Gregoire earned his BS in Optical Engineering from University of Rochester.

Founders of AO, Bob and Pam Hogrefe, President/CEO and Executive Vice President respectively, count it an honor to serve customers and employees for over 23 years. Under their guidance, AO has enabled its customers to achieve world-class product developments at the micro-scale level. These exceptional visual imaging products enhance the surgeon’s vision during robotic-assisted surgeries and minimally invasive surgical procedures. And, most importantly, AO’s surgical imaging advances have enabled better outcomes for millions of patients worldwide.
Marialicia Coates heads up Corporate Marketing Communications for Access Optics [AO]. She joined the company in 2022, bringing more than a dozen years of experience as a purpose-driven marketing, branding, and strategy leader at medical device companies. Prior to AO, she oversaw the medical supplier’s overall brand strategy at US Pharm & GENA SA. Coates has a degree in Advertising Communications from USFQ.

James Larson is Access Optics’ Manager of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance. Larson has over 25 years of quality, regulatory and clinical research experience within large, global medical device companies.
Larson has successfully managed quality systems for production of a wide variety of class I and II devices including catheters, biopsy needles, electromechanical, and now micro-optics and micro-optical assemblies.
He is a staunch advocate for meeting both customer and regulatory requirements. Larson is also well versed in process improvement through his Six Sigma Black Belt background. Larson brings a strong competency for his role in supporting Access Optics’ operational excellence.
Larson holds a BS degree in Biological Science from the University of California at Irvine.
Rhonda Bielby joined Access Optics in 2017 and is an accomplished leader with a diverse industry background. Bielby has over 25 years of experience in technical sales, customer account management and advertising + marketing.
She is the first point of contact for AO customers and delves deeply to understand each customer’s project goals and how to best achieve them.
Bielby’s education and experience supports Sales Operations at Access Optics, making her a vested liaison for customer service. She is the vital link from customer on-boarding through to the successful completion of each customer’s project.
Bielby holds a BA in Communication Design from the University of Tulsa.
Angela Holjes heads Operations at Access Optics [AO]. She joined the company in 2015, bringing more than 20 years of experience as a purpose-driven operations leader serving at a well-known branded eyecare and eyewear products manufacturer as well as other medical device companies.
Before AO, Holjes mastered many aspects of the Optical Management industry including medical, retail, and micro-optics production fields. During her career, she has overseen operations and personnel training in start-up businesses that have grown into nationwide companies. Holje’s passion is “doing work that matters” — helping improve people’s lives.
She has a Board Certification of Opticianry.
